What does elderly care entail?

An elderly carer can provide personal care, food and drink preparation, feeding, assistance with medication, shopping, cleaning, help with caring for a pet and companionship, as well as accompanying clients to medical appointments and social events if needed.

Before Elderly Care starts with TLC one of our experienced Care Managers visits every customer to discuss and assess their needs and only then is a care plan tailored to suit their circumstances. We work hard to ensure every customer’s independence is maintained as much as possible as we understand that if an elderly person becomes too reliant on their carer then this can lead to them needing more and more support as time goes on.

When a care plan has been agreed we then look to match one of our carers. We look at their qualifications and experience as well as their interests and hobbies. At TLC, we understand that a carer coming into your home can sometimes take a while to adjust to so matching personal interests helps this transition.

We have regular quality reviews carried out by our public-sector clients and are registered with the Care Quality Commission who are the independent regulator of health and social care in England. If they find that care has fallen short of this, they will act and hold care providers and managers to account for failures in how care is provided.
